The first queries system for the TNGenWeb project was in place from approximately July, 1996, to December, 1998. Queries were e-mailed to the site host(esse)s, who placed them on-line in plain HTML pages. There was no opportunity to post responses as there is now.

Queries posted from August, 1996, to early 2000, are now available on this Web site for reference. There is a gap in 1999.

John KERR Sr. was my ggggrandfather. He was married to Martha (?). They lived in Sevier Co, but originally emigrated from No. Carolina, Caswell C. They settled in Sevier County circa 1796. He died 1839 and left a will naming his children as follows: John KERR Jr., Daniel KERR, Polly KERR, Fatha KERR, and his wife Martha. I am trying to identify John KERR Sr.'s parents. I was told his father's name was Alexander, but now I am not sure if Alexander KERR from Caswell Co. is indeed his father. If anyone is researching this same family I will be happy to share info. Thanks in advance for your help.

WELLS-Mary Huffaker.Seek information on where Mary is. Can trace her through the 1929 city directory in Knoxville and then no other trace can be found of her. She married Herman Wells 9 Oct 1924 in Knoxville. Herman was murdered in Knoxville Feb 1932. His obituary does not name Mary as a survivor but does list a girlfriend, Helen Tolley, as well as his mother, Lizzie Clifton Wells. Herman is buried at Thorngrove Cem. in Knoxville but no information of Mary possibly dying before him and buried there. No trace can be found in the four divorce courts in Knoxville at that time. One piece of information recieved was that she might have went to Chattanoogna. Mary's birthdate is 18 Dec 1907. Parents were Melvin Arthur and J.V. May Atchley Huffaker. Does anyone know what happened to Mary or where she is???
